Migrant communities, including the Polish community, have been ineffectively engaged with during the pandemic, and the State needs to do more to engage migrant groups if the country is to fully recover from the Covid-19 pandemic. That’s according to Forum Polonia, a network organisation for Polish community groups, that met recently to discuss the disproportionate impact the pandemic has had on the Polish community in Ireland.

Thanks to Irena’s efforts Crosscare Poland is supporting Polish immigrants who find themselves in difficult circumstances. There was also created a free guide in Polish language “Daily Life in Ireland- Guide for newcomers”. Irena cooperates with the Polish community and media organizations, provides training, workshops and relevant information, participates in forums such as Forum Polonia, meetings and events, as well as works with representatives of the Polish governmental and religious organizations. In addition, she is the Chair of the Board of Directors of CCT (Centre for Counselling and Therapy), Polish charitable organization mainly focused on people with addictions and their families.
On the day of the presentation, after a short speech of Mr. Piotr Rakowski, Chargé d’Affaires a.i., Irena expressed her sincere thanks to all individuals and organizations involved in her activities, as well as her family and friends. Excellent culmination of the evening was a piano concert of Mr. Barnaba Dorda.


KINOPOLIS, the longest-running and largest Polish Film Festival in Ireland, returns to the Irish Film Institute (IFI) for its 9th edition with some of the best and most recent Polish film productions. The Festival will run from 6-9th November 2014 and will present 4 feature films as well as 7 animations and 3 documentaries. (more…)
